Siberian Husky. Even the name of this breed sounds exotic and unique. Most people don't have to own one to know what you are talking about. However, if you do own a Siberian Husky there is absolutely no doubt in your mind that this is "The Breed".
Siberian Huskies have delightful temperaments, affectionate but not fawning. They respond best to positive reinforcement. Huskies are alert, eager to please and adaptable. They are highly intelligent, but still have an independent spirit that just may challenge the best of trainers at times. One example cited was an owner gave the sit command to his dog and he swears his dog "talked back" to him about not wanting to sit and he found himself having an hour long conversation with the dog about why he should sit for him.
They are also very fun loving and have been known to perform amazing feats of magic. They are called the Houdini's of the dog world, able to escape through the smallest openings in the least amount of time. Some Siberian Husky owners swear that their dogs actually "plan" their escape and then wait patiently for the opportunity.
